Thanks to the intense fight for the MLC seat, the value of the vote in the Graduates elections has gone up exponentially. The situation is more severe in the Khammam-Warangal-Nalgonda Graduates Constituency, where some big money bags are in the fray. With the contest getting tougher and tougher, the cost of the vote is reportedly getting higher and higher.

As of now, the asking rate for the Graduates' vote is said to be pegged at Rs 8000 per vote. With over 5.5 lakh voters in the lists, at least one candidate, who has to win by 'hook or crook' is rumoured to be readying up up to Rs 30 crore. In households that have three or more graduate voters, packages are being worked out. Valuables like mobile phones and laptops are reportedly being offered to lure the voters. The voters are spread in 12 present-day districts. At least one candidate has formed groups to reach out to the voters who are spread far and wide and is said to be working out deals with the voters.

Significantly, TJS leader Prof. Kodandaram has recently said that the asking rate of the Graduates constituency voters has gone up in the constituency ever since he has entered the fray. He said the ruling party was trying to influence the voters through money power, he alleged. BJP's Premender Reddy, TV personality Teenmar Mallanna, Telangana activist Cherukuri Sudhakar, former anchor Rani Rudrama and Left party candidate are also in the fray.
