An amount of Rs.1 crore amount of will be given to the best colony in Hyderabad city. The announcement was made by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan on Monday.
Ram Mohan today participated in a FM radio program 'Nagaram Gunde Chappudu' and he revealed the plans on transforming Hyderbaad to a global city. Rammohan said the decision of Rs.1 crore reward for best colony was taken by the Telanagan chief minister during the training session for corporators.
As per Ram Mohan the best colony will be selected on basis of maintenance of roads, greenery, rain water harvesting pits, cleanliness, no drainage problem and sanitation. The gift amount can be used by the colony to enhance the facilities.
In order to get the construction permission from GHMC a soak pit is compulsory; he added. He also hinted about plans to ban the usage of plastic in the city. He also revealed about GHMC plans on allotting digital numbers for households in the city.
