The Sabarimala temple which is hitting the headlines from the past week was opened today for a two month long season amid tight security. To make the pilgrimage problem free, the government has made all the necessary arrangements.
Kandararu Mahesh Mohanararu will be opening the sanctum sanctorum and offers puja.
AK Sudheer Namboodri will hold the position of Sabarimala Melsanthi and Malikapuram Melsanthi will be MS Parameshwaran Namboodri.
Only after performing puja and having darshan, the pilgrims will be allowed to climb the 18 steps, which are considered holy.
Social activist, Trupti Desai was not permitted to enter the holy shrine last time and with this, she has to return from Kochi airport facing protests from the devotees. Reportedly she will visit Sabarimala on Sunday.
"If women need protection to trek the hills, police should provide the same. Whether government gives protection or not we will be reaching on November 17 to offer prayers", Trupti said.
