Will Sabitha Indra Reddy's Son Get Congress Ticket From Rajendranagar?

Update: 2018-08-21 07:27 GMT
Former Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy is planning her son's political career. She is doing everything she can to make him the Congress candidate from Rajendranagar assembly constituency in 2019 elections. Her son Karthik Reddy is hugely popular in Rajendranagar and is quite active with a slew of programmes in the constituency. His father Indra Reddy too was well=known in the area and this constituency has been carved out from Chevella, which has been a burrough of the Indra Reddy family.

Sabitha is said to be lobbying hard for an MLA ticket from Rajendranagar and hopes that he can have a facile win. But, the only problem is that the Congress high command has not yet given any confirmation about the seat. No party biggie has even given any assurance to her.

Also, a number of Congress leaders are vying for the Rajendranagar constituency. Prominent among them are Gnaneswar, Sama Rajpal Reddy and Sanam Srinivasa Goud. The constituency is currently being represented by Prakash Goud. He had won in 2009 and 2014, both the times on a TDP ticket. But, in 2014, he had ditched the TDP to join the TRS. He is facing anti-incumbency and has courted quite a few controversies. So, it would be an added advantage for the Congress. Hence the competition.
