Bollywood superstar Salman Khan files a defamation suit against a TV Channel in connection with the 1998 Blackbuck Poaching Case. He alleges the sting the string operation carried out by the news channel is malicious and defamatory.
Salman Khan sought a stay order on the release of the string operation on grounds that his reputation would be at stake. He also seeks Rs 100 crore from the media house for the damage.
As per the TV Channel's sting operation, Eye-Witnesses have told that they have seen Salman Khan hunting chinkaras in Jodhpur. Much to the shock of the channel, The Witnesses later told the court sting operation was doctored. Later, The TV Channel informed the court about erasing the sting operation tape and its related material.
Salman Khan was acquitted from blackbuck case in July this year. The defamation suit might come up for hearing on November 18th, 2016.
