Sasikala asymptomatic of Covid-19, to be released on Sunday: Hospital authorities

Former general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIAMDMK) and a close aide of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, VK Sasikala will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, the hospital authorities said.

According to the health bulletin issued by the Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute, Sasikala has completed 10 days of treatment and will be discharged on Sunday.

Sasikala has been asymptomatic for the Coronavirus and maintained saturation for three days without oxygen. She can be discharged from the hospital, as per the protocol, the bulletin said.

"Mrs Sasikala Natarajan has completed 10 days of treatment today. She has been asymptomatic and maintaining saturation without oxygen since three days. As per protocol, she can be released from hospital," the bulletin said

"The team of doctors attending to her have taken the decision that she is fit for discharge and she will be discharged tomorrow (31.01.2021) with advice of home quarantine," the bulletin added.

She was admitted to a hospital last week after she complained of fever and breathlessness. She was later tested positive for the Coronavirus. She has been undergoing treatment for the past ten days.

The expelled leader of AIADMK was released from the prison on Wednesday, after completing jail imprisonment of four years. She was awarded imprisonment in a case of disproportionate assets.
