Expelled AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan was granted parole by Prisons Department on Friday. She would be walking out of prison 8 months after being jailed in connection with Jayalalithaa's disproportionate assets case.
Actually, Sasikala sought parole for a period of 15 days to be with her ailing husband M Natarajan. However, Prisons Department has cut short the parole period to 5 days. In addition, Sasikala was denied permission to get involved in any political activities in Chennai and offer any statements to the media. She will have to stay at her relative's house instead of Poes Garden residence Veda Nilayam.
Sasikala's Parole request was approved in the second attempt. The first application was turned down citing incomplete paperwork.
By Friday morning, Sasikala's Nephew TTV Dhinakaran reached Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru to receive her aunt. Chinnamma will be in Chennai for the next few days and that's gonna have an impact on Tamil Nadu Politics inspite of the conditional parole.
