Apologise or Face Criminal Proceedings: SC to Hero

Update: 2015-12-01 05:35 GMT
The Supreme Court directed Bollywood actor Govinda to either apologise to his fan or face prosecution for criminal intimidation for allegedly him in January 2008.

Justices TS Thakur and V Gopala Gowda commented Govinda is a big actor and they too love watching his films. Then, The Judges advised the actor admit when he committed a mistake and ask the complainant (a fan) to forgive him. The bench refused the claim of Govinda's counsel that the video clip showing the actor slapping the fan was morphed. After watching the footage in a mobile, The judges said its a TV report and it can't be wrong. They also maintained Govinda has to face prosecution if the fan doesn't accept his apology.

Complainant Santosh Bateshwar Ray moved Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court judgement quashing the summons issued to Govinda by a trail court. He claims to have gone to watch shooting on that day as he was a fan but lost all the respect for Govinda after he slapped him for no reason.
