The apex court which is supposed to deliver its verdict today on the plea filed by the trio Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress on the decision of the Governor of Maharashtra regarding the swearing ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Minister.
A constitutional bench which comprises Justices NV Ramana, Ashok Bhushan and Sanjiv Khanna might issue an order to hold the floor test.
"Question is can a party come, seek courtâs intervention to hold floor test within 24 hours?" the Supreme Court asked.
"One Pawar is with me, another Pawar is here in the Supreme Court," said Advocate Mukul Rohatgi to the Supreme Court who is representing the BJP party.
"I met Ajit Pawar, he had the support of 54 NCP MLAs, so the governor asked him to form the government," he added.
"The parties are seeking direction to the governor, who is immune, to act as per their wishes," the BJP said.
