Following the positive cases of COVID-19 are increasing rapidly, the Vaccine giant Serum Institute of India located in Pune has come up with a rather piece of good news on the vaccine for the pandemic.
The Serum Institute of India announced that they are planning to start the production of the vaccine that is developed by the Oxford University in the coming two to three weeks and added that if the human clinical trials turned out to be successful the proposed will be out in the market by the end of October.
Earlier the Serum Institute of India(SII) has joined hands with the Oxford University scientists for a project on malaria vaccine and with the experience, the SII CEO Adar Poonawalla said that Oxford University has the best scientists.
"Keeping the current situation in mind, we have funded this endeavour at a personal capacity and hopefully will be able to enlist the support of other partners to further scale-up the vaccine production," Poonawalla added.
The toll of the positive cases in the country surpassed the 27,000-mark in India claiming more than 800 COVID-19 fatalities to date.
