Update: 2020-09-29 12:10 GMT
At a time when the coronavirus is spreading extensively in the country, all the pharmaceutical companies are making serious efforts to find a vaccine for the virus.

Serum Institute of India (SII) said on Tuesday that it would get a further $150 million in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the GAVI alliance to make extra 10 crore coronavirus vaccine doses for India and other poorer countries next year.

The collaboration takes forward initial agreement signed in August by the company with the GAVI and the Gates Foundation, with the total number of vaccine doses to be covered now up to 200 million.

The expanded deal will boost manufacturing and efficient coronavirus vaccines, which has been priced at a maximum of $3 per dose or ₹250 per dose.
