Setting a new record India reports 3,46,786 Covid cases and 2,624 fatalities
India made a record in witnessing new Corona cases for one more time on April 24, by reporting more than three lakh fresh infections for the third straight day in a row.
In a new record, India reported 3,46,786 Covid cases in the past 24 hours. The newly detected Covid infections take the cumulative count of Covid-19 cases in the country to a whopping 1,66,10,481.
Going by the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, India reported the highest casualties in a single day since the inception of the pandemic with not less than 2,624 new deaths. So far, a total of 1,89,544 people succumbed to Covid-19.
As per the Health Ministry, a total of 27,61,99,222 samples were tested to detect the fresh Coronavirus in the country so far, while 17,53,569 samples were tested on Friday alone.
The nationwide Coronavirus vaccination was started in January this year in India. So far a whopping 13,83,79,832 vaccinations were carried out, while 29,01,412 beneficiaries were reported on Friday.
Looking at the recoveries, including 2,19,838 new recoveries, the total recoveries in the country have zoomed to 1,38,67,997, with a recovery rate of 83.92 percent. There are 25,52,940 active cases in the country.
