Tragic: Seven-month-old Baby, Who Needs Special Injection For A Rare Condition Passed Away!
In a tragic incident, seven-month-old baby Noor Fatima, who needs a special injection that costs Rs 16 crore for her rare spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type -1, passed away on Tuesday morning.
As per the reports, Zishan Ahmed, Noor Fatima's father tried to wake up the baby around 7 Am. But they found out that Noor was not breathing. She was rushed to the hospital and the doctors declared her brought dead.
Through fundraising, the family received around Rs 40 lakh for the treatment. The special injection has to be imported from the United States, which costs around Rs 16 crore. Zishan Ahmad said the money will be returned to the donors.
A similar case was reported in Hyderabad, where a boy was treated for the rare SMA after the family has managed to get the Zolgensma injection through a fundraiser. This gave hope to Noor's family that their baby will also make it through the treatment.
But sadly, the baby passed away. The baby's father works as a painter and earns around Rs 10k to Rs 15 k per month. With the help of social media, they had managed to raise Rs 40 lakh.
