Religion and Beliefs in Gods are very sensitive topics. One should be very careful while talking about these topics. Coming to a country like India, which is densely populated, one should watch his/her comments carefully while talking about the topics.
The ongoing controversy of Popular Vaishnava seer Tridandi Ramanujar Chinna Jeeyar Swamy is a classic example of what happens when something wrong is spoken about the topics. His recent comments on tribal goddesses Sammakka-Sarakka did not go well with many and people from various fields are lashing out at the seer.
Several tribal associations are not happy with the seer's comments. Saying that their beliefs were hurt by his comments, they demanded an apology from him. Not just that, a complaint with the Police was also lodged against Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.
Not just the tribal leaders and tribal communities, other prominent people like CPI Narayana and Tollywood producer Ashwini Dutt also found fault with Jeeyar's comments and asked what right he has got to make such objectionable comments.
CPI Narayana said that no one will appreciate the comments made by the seer and he should issue an apology for hurting the sentiments of worshipers of the tribal goddesses. Hitting back at the real estate comments made by the seer, the veteran communist leader said that the realtors are with the seer and he should not make such comments.
Ace Producer and Vyjayanthi Movies owner Ashwini Dutt who often stays out of these issues also reacted to the controversy. Lashing out at the seer, Mr. Dutt is said to have dubbed the seer as Vedhava.
Expressing his dissatisfaction over the seer making such comments, Ashwini Dutt demanded the seer to issue an apology at the earliest. The producer asked why the seer had put up entry charges at the statute of equality.
It has to be mentioned here that the other day, Tribal MLA Seethakka had lashed out at the seer and demanded an apology from him. Mentioning the entry ticket for the statue the MLA asked who is doing the real estate business here.
The controversy erupted when Chinna Jeeyar Swamy asked what people are worshiping Sammakka and Sarakka when they are not goddesses. He asked if they had come from heaven to worship them
