As announced earlier, YS Sharmila launched her new political party, YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) on Thursday at a private convention hall in Hyderabad amid much fanfare of her followers and fans of her father, YSR, former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh.
YS Sharmila and her mother Y.S. Vijayamma unveiled the party flag at the meeting. Addressing the gathering, YS Sharmila launched a fierce attack on Telangana Chief Minister KCR.
She attacked KCR on various election announcements he made on BC reservations, 12 percent reservations for Tribals, and three acres of land for Dalits and said the Chief Minister failed to implement the announcements.
Addressing KCR as Dora, Sharmila said, KCR often used one dialogue, he will cut off his head if he fails to keep his word. But what happened to his promise of making the Dalit candidate as Chief Minister, which didn't happen. What happened to the promise Dora, Sharmila said.
"Reserving 50 percent of seats in the State Legislative Assembly for women and sending them to the house is a dream of my father YSR. I assure you that YSRTP will implement the same if it comes to power," Sharmila said.
Sharmila also took a dig at BJP Telangana Chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar. She said, all the time the state chief says, he has all the information on KCR's corruption but never shares them. When their party is in power at the centre, why can't action be taken against KCR if he is corrupt?
Sharmila even found fault with the Telangana wing of Congress, which kept silent when TRS leaders were making comments against YSR. She said the reason behind the Congress party surviving in Telangana is his father.
Before Sharmila addressed the gathering, Y.S. Vijayamma addressed the gathering and said, after YSR became the Chief Minister, the bloodshed had come down and the area which saw blood saw water in the fields under his ruling.
She urged the voters and people to encourage YS Sharmila in her new journey and appealed to them to see Sharmila as their family member. YSR didn't show any partiality in his ruling. He developed all the regions, Vijayamma said.
