India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, who occasionally bowls off-spin in test matches has been reported for a suspect action during the recent fourth Test against South Africa.
The match officials' report cited concerns about the legality of the 30-year-old's off-spin deliveries. ICC reelased a press report regarding this. Dhawan's bowling action will now be scrutinised further by ICC.
Dhawan is required to undergo testing within 14 days. However Dhawan is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known.
India captain Virat Kohli called on Dhawan to bowl just three overs during South Africa's second innings. Dhawan gave away 9 runs in three overs.Since he is not even a part-time spinner in the real sense, the ICC diktat should not be a big problem .
