Shocking: Indian-origin woman racially abused, reportedly kicked for not wearing face mask!
Tension gripped Singapore after a man reported made racial abuse towards an Indian-origin-woman and kicked her while she was brisk walking on the grounds of not wearing a facemask.
Going into detail, a 55-year-old Indian-origin woman, who goes by the name Hindocha Nita Vishnubhai works as a private tutor in Singapore. On the morning of Friday, the Indian-origin woman went for brisk walking.
While she was brisk walking a man went to the Indian origin man and asked her to pull her mask up. To which, the woman replied, she didn't pull her mask up as she was brisk masking.
The woman along with her daughter Parveen Kaur was walking along Choa Chu Kang Drive on Friday. Then a man approached the woman near a bus stop outside Northvale condominium. Despite the woman giving the reason, the man hurled racial abuse.
Taking to Instagram, the victim's daughter shared the entire incident and said, those who say there is no racism in Singapore and should be thankful that we are not in the countries that the minorities are in physical danger, should read the post.
"She explained that she was brisk walking but he didn't care. He hurled vulgarities and racial slurs at her," Kaur said in an Instagram post.
"My mum responded with a 'God bless you' and the guy kicked her in the chest. My mum landed on her back and hurt herself," Parveen Kaur added in her Instagram post.
After the incident, the attacker left the spot. A case has been filed by the authorities and the investigation is underway to nab the accused based on the details shared by the victim's daughter.
