Historical 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam', undertaken and performed by Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on an unprecedented scale has concluded on Sunday evening.

The five-day 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam' performed by KCR draws sharp criticism from the opposition BJP and CPI(M) which accused him of misusing government machinery and wasting public money. However KCR thrashed the rumours and said that the money spent for the Yagam was his own.

Now Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah took a dig at KCR yagam. Wondering how a Yaagam could help achieve any development, Siddaramaiah has ridiculed KCR for his claims that the religious event was performed for the welfare and development of the state

Siuddu speaking at the birth anniversary of poet Kuvempu in Bengaluru sais it was painful to see educated people also blindly believing in religious superstitions. Siddaramaiah who is known for his  progressive thinking reportedly says "If a yaagam could bring in rains, there wouldn't be any sign of a draught in the country".

The five-day ritual for 'Lok Kalyanam' and 'Vishwa Shanthi' was attended by several prominent people including Governor, union ministers and Chief Ministers of AP state.
