Friendship needs common likes, dislikes and of course common traits. One reason for KCR and Modi friendship is that they share common traits. Interestingly, KCR worked his charm on Modi in such a way that within a few days he managed to get a nod for all his demands. No leader could ever achieve this.
Convicing Modi is a tall order. It's never very easy to get a yes from Modi. KCR has done the impossible by presenting his wishlist to Modi and got his aye too. Interestingly, only a few months ago, KCR talked of forming a federal front as a non-Congress, non-BJP alternative. He had even met some leaders with this proposal. Yet Modi okayed his proposals.
Now, everyone is wondering how KCR could achieve it. Political watchers say the common traits between the two leaders must have done the trick. Both do not trust anyone. Both are known to use people and then dump them. Both are experts in prostrating when necessary and pull the carpet from under the feet if it comes to that. Modi is what he is because of the support from Advani. Today, he has dumped his Guru. Durign the 2014 elections, he promised lot of things to Telugus and had even said that he would transform AP into a developed state. What became of those promises is everyoneâs knowledge.
KCR too prostrated before Sonia and had even promised to merge his party into the Congress if and when Telangana becomes a reality. What did he do after achieving Telangana needs no repetition? He promised to make a Dalit the CM of Telangana. We know what became of that.
Perhaps it is these similarities that have brought them together. But, one only wonders how long this friendship will last given that both are very crafty in their nature and foxy in their attitude.
