Covid lockdown and the restriction that accompanied it are leading to strange problems. Long hours of online classes for the students means being in front of the laptop or computer and even a mobile phone. This, according to cyber experts, is making students access and watch sleaze videos.
A study has said that this is a nation-wide trend and pointed out that the problem is more rampant in Karnataka than other states. This is an alarming trend and studies have shown that elders too are watching porn for long hours . According to the study, those who watch child porn would be jailed for five years and will be levied a fine of Rs 10 lakh. For repeat offenders, the imprisonment is for a period of seven years and the fine amount is Rs 10 lakh. Long hours of isolation, inability to play with the friends and confinement to home is forcing them to spend time watching porn. The Karnataka police have so far identified over 200 persons and warned them against watching porn.
The Karnataka police said that they would book cases against the parents of the children found watching porn. They said it is the responsibility of the parents to keep a tab on what they are doing and what they are watching on their mobiles. Isn't it time that our Telugu governments too launched a similar campaign to weed out child porn.
