Smriti Irani's classic retort to Actor's Satire

Update: 2017-11-21 17:20 GMT
Information & Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani dropped films such as 'Nude' and 'S Durga' from International Film Festival of India held at Goa. Movie Buffs have criticized this move by the Union Minister.

Bollywood Hero Rajkummar Rao who hosted the show despite broken leg took a dig at the Union Minister by linking her name to Director Majid Majidi's flick with which the film festival opened. 'It's a coincidence that Director Majid Majidi was an 'irani' just alike the Union Minister was,' he commented. To which, The Minister smiled.

While addressing the gathering at IFFI opening ceremony, Smriti Irani said: 'The whole world should know that Rajkummar Rao poked fun at an Union Minister. Why because it shows how tolerant this Government has been. I won't say much..Rahkummar Rao..thank you. I'm thanking you so that at least no one should say that BJPwalas broke an Actor's leg,' she said.

Smriti Irani handled the jibe at her very well. The way she converted a satire into a positive thing for the NDA Government shows her maturity as a Politician. So, Film Personalities need to be very careful while targeting a Minister with brains.
