Smuggler Gangireddy Brought to India

Kollam Gangi Reddy, notorious red sander smuggler who ran red sanders smuggling racket in Chittoor, Nellore, Kurnool and Kadapa districts was brought to India on Sunday from Mauritius.

A court in Mauritius handed him over to a special police team from Andhra Pradesh. Gangi Reddy was   shifted from the court to the Mauritius airport amidst tight security and from there the team brought him to New Delhi. They are expected to arrive in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon

It is to be mentioned here that Gangi Reddy was living in Mauritius by means of fake passport. Gangi Reddy has been facing several cases in Kurnool and Kadapa district.He is also a key accused in the assassination bid on AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in 2003.

A native of Kadapa district, Gangi Reddy was in to red sander smuggling since 15 years. More than 25 cases have been booked against him in police stations of Rayalaseema. The Interpol nabbed Gangi Reddy when he was on his way to Sri Lanka from Mauritius.He is expected to be presented at a local court in Kadapa district on Monday.
