BJP Fire brand Somu Veerraju alleged TDP revolted against Centre for political gains though there is still few more years to implement remaining promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. He questioned, 'Why CM wants development to happen only in Amaravati? What is the need for 20 hospitals in AP Capital alone? Some of them should be set up in Uttar Andhra and Rayalaseema. Even Prakasam District is backward. Centre and State Governments need to work collectively for developing Ongole'.
Somu Veerraju asked, 'What did AP Govt do with the special economic package of Rs 50 crore per each of 7 Backward Districts in Uttar Andhra and Rayalaseema? What about these districts if development happens only in Amaravati?'.
The BJP MLC pointed out Chandrababu Naidu offered two letters to Centre favouring bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. 'Except CPM, All the parties sought division of United AP. All of them demanded equal justice but none of them had asked how the loss to AP should be compensated. BJP is the only party which spoke for AP during bifurcation. TDP took part in division movement in Telangana and Samaikya movement in AP. 1200 promises had been made by Chandrababu Naidu to come to power but none of them were fulfilled. Whereas, BJP fulfilled most of the assurances given in AP Reorganisation Act 2014 within three years. AP won't gain anything if BJP is blamed unnecessarily. We are still committed to the development of the state,' he said.
