Former captain Sourav Ganguly who is currently serving as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President took over another key position adding one more feather in his illustrious cap.
He was appointed as the ICC Cricket Council Chairman. The international cricket governing body International Cricket Council(ICC) welcomed Sourav Ganguly to the new position while announcing his appointment.
With his new position, Sourav Ganguly had replaced veteran Indian spinner Anil Kumble who has been serving in the position from the last three terms.
'I would also like to thank Anil for his outstanding leadership over the last nine years which has included improving the international game through more regular and consistent application of DRS and a robust process for addressing suspect bowling actions," ICC chair Greg Barclay said earlier today.
The ICC took a handful of measures and actions for the betterment of the game including overseeing the cricket developments in Afghanistan that was hit by the Taliban.
