Update: 2022-03-28 11:34 GMT
The special Nampally House of Representatives had served a summons for a Chief Minister for the first time since its inception to appear for the hearing. A special court asking the Chief Minister to attend the hearing in a case had raised many eyeballs.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy received a summons from the special court, becoming the first CM to have received the summons. The summons that was served by the court had directed him to be present before the court in connection with an old case.

As per the earlier issued summons, CM Jagan was supposed to be present before the court today for the hearing. However, he did not attend the hearing as he did not receive the summons reportedly. The same was informed to the court by the advocates representing CM Jagan, media reports said.

Noting that the summons did not reach the Chief Minister, the special court is said to have directed the registrar to send notices to Jagan directing him to appear before it for the hearing.

Getting into the details of the case, the case that was filed against Jagan traces back to 2014. When the elections were held for the Huzurnagar constituency, Jagan is said to have violated the election rules and a case was filed against Jagan and two others.
