AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu given a call to Special Category Status be achieved in a peaceful manner rather than taking extreme steps such as suicide & resorting to violence.
Speaking on the Special Status resolution in Legislative Council, Chandrababu Naidu said: "We need Special Status to catch up with the development happening in other states. Demanded Centre to offer Tax Exemptions for Industries and Rs 300 per year for every Rayalseema district for a period of 5 years. Nearly Rs 30,000 crore has to be spent for completion of Polavaram project. PM promised to offer financial assistance to AP after consulting Niti Ayogh."
"People have voted for TDP believing development would happen in my regime. We came to power with the overwhelming support from people of Godavari district. At any cost, Water will be supplied to multi-crops in this region. Drought in Rayalseema would be scrapped with Polavaram and Pattiseema projects. In the past 15 months, AP Government spent Rs 8,600 crore for Irrigation Projects. A special road connecting Kurnool & Amaravathi will be laid. I will remain as a servant & protector of AP People. Telangana isn't our competitor. We don't have the necessity to create problems for our neighbouring state. I appeal Telangana Government to resolve the inter-state issues through dialogue."
