Air Hostesses of SpiceJet protested at the Chennai Airport on Saturday morning after being strip searched by the Airline's Security Personnel. They complained Security Personnel made them to strip after deboarding from flights since few days and even forced to remove the sanitary pads they wore.

In a video shot at Chennai Airport, Air Hostesses complained about strip search. One of them complained, Someone touched her inappropriately and made her to be naked. Another Crew Member questioned, 'Does Removing sanitary pad and touching private parts come under the policy? Is this any less than rape and molestation?'.

Cabin Crew Members called off their protest only after SpiceJet Management gave an assurance to convene a high-level meeting at the Gurgaon Office on Monday to discuss the issue. The protest resulted in one-hour delay of two flights including a Colombo-bound international aircraft.

SpiceJet issued a statement saying 'pat down' searches is a normal practice and it's in line with the norms set by security agencies. 'Searches were done in closed rooms by well-trained security personnel of same gender. Even Passengers are made to go through these kind of security check at all the Indian Airports,' claims the Airline.
