Hyd High Court's call to scrap Sports Quota

Hyderabad High Court terms sports quota for admission in educational institutes as illegal. It has given a call to State Governments across the Nation to scrap the sports quota.

High Court found fault with AP Government for the inclusion of insignificant games in the sports quota. It opined that TDP Government included each and every game except for video games in the sports quota. The bench even felt Sports Quota is nothing but a backdoor entry for students who weren't good at studies.

A petition filed by Student challenging the decision of NTR Health University not to consider her for an MBBS Seat under the Sports Quota.

TDP Government has added six games to the already existing 28 games. This include netball, tennikoit, throw ball, powerlifting, boxing and speak takraw.
