Congress strongman Kuna Srisailam Goud's joining of the BJP is being seen as a personal loss to Congress working president in Telangana Revanth Reddy. Srisailam Goud is considered quite close to Revanth. In fact, he is responsible for the success of programmes organized by Revanth Reddy in Qutbullahpur.
Kuna Srisailam Goud had won once as an MLA and twice he lost the assembly elections by a small margin. He was quite active in the Congress Party and contributed majorly for the party's performance in the constituency. In politics, he is considered to a strong follower of Revanth Reddy. His leaving would seriously affect the political chances of Revanth Reddy, according to political pundits. They feel that the Congress will not be the same once Goud joins the BJP.
Interestingly, Kuna Srisailam Goud stopped responding to the calls of the Congress Party for the past couple of days. On knowing about Kuna Srisailam Goud's plans to jump into the BjP the Congress Party leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy have tried hard to dissuade him. However, Goud was determined to leave the Congress.
With Goud's desertion, the Congress Party has lost a hugely popular leader in the GHMC area. Even in the recent GHMC region, the Congress candidates performed better in Qutbullahpur. However, the party failed to win any seat in the constituency.
