State Emergency In Kerala With 3 Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Following three people testing positive for the deadly virus Coronavirus, the Kerala government has declared the disease as a "state calamity". The virus was originated from the Wuhan City of the Dragon city.

"The announcement is not meant to scare people. It is to help take proactive steps to intensify the steps to contain the spread of the virus," Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja said.

The three patients who tested positive for the virus have returned from the Wuhan city recently. According to the officials, the trio was in physical contact with each other on the flight journey.

With this, the state government has declared a state emergency and taking steps to prevent the virus from the outbreak.

As of now, more than 140 samples were sent for testing from Kerala and three were resulted positive. Reports of the remaining samples are awaited.


"Third positive case of Novel Coronavirus patient, has been reported in Kerala. The patient has a travel history from Wuhan in China. The patient has tested positive for Novel Coronavirus and is in isolation in the hospital. The patient is stable and is being closely monitored," the Health Ministry said.
