Students Invent Device to Save Infants from Borewell

Moved by the plight of infants falling into borewells two of the class 10 th students Hema Pravin and Pravin has invented a device that helps to rescue kids who fall into borewells. The two students were belonged to Government High School, Miyapur and the device they invented have the potential of saving lives.

They have displayed the device at the district-level science exhibition in the city and won applauses from several people.The device is a narrow cylindrical structure that can be easily lowered into a borewell. The device was equipped with  miniature camera, mike, speakers and oxygen pipe.

By lowering the device into borwells  one can  visuals about the position of the victim. Simultaneously, the rescuers can talk to the victim and also hear what they are saying through the miniature mike and speakers.It  can be operated with batteries and works with the help of an air piston. Required amounts of oxygen can be pumped through the tubes

Over the last ten years at least dozen children lost their lives in abandoned bore wells in the state. Now experts in state are reviewing the device for use by the fire and rescue department.
