Stunned BJP rushes its leaders to Khammam, Warangal, Siddipet

Update: 2021-04-17 11:24 GMT
Foxy KCR has once again flummoxed the Opposition in Telangana by suddenly declaring the elections to two corporations and several municipalities in the state. The announcement was so sudden that the opposition was caught completely unawares. The elections will be over by April 30 and thus the BJP and the Congress will hardly get time to conduct their campaign.

A shocked BJP has held an emergency meeting and has rushed its key leaders to Warangal, Khammam and Siddipet where the elections would be held. Dubbak MLA Raghunandan Rao has been asked to take reins of the campaign in Siddipet. In Siddipet, the BJP had won two councilors. One of them had defected to the TRS, while the other, Doodi Srikanth Reddy, is the district president of the party. The party wants to put up a better performance this time.

As for Khammam, former MP AP Jithender Reddy, who is adept in conducting party’s election campaigns and mobilize resources, has been dispatched to Khammam municipal corporation. The BJP, which never had a corporator so far, wants to wrest Khammam this time. Last time, it had contested 11 seats and retained deposit in only one seat.  Party’s former MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy too has been sent to assist Jithender Reddy.

Warangal too is a key corporation and the BJP hopes to do better here. But, recent defeat in the graduate MLC elections has proved to be a dampener for the BJP. However, Bandi Sanjay himself will campaign in Greater Warangal Municipal corporation. Bandi Sanjay will also campaign in Siddipet and Khammam.
