Since Arun Jaitley's speech in Rajya Sabha, YSR Congress MPs continued to storm into the Well of Lok Sabha demanding Special Category Status for AP. They didn't pay heed to the orders of Speaker Sumitra Mahajan who asked the MPs to go back to their seats and not to display placards.
During the Question Hour, Congress leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge told that YCP MPs have been continuous disrupting the proceedings for Special Status. He then sought the Speaker to ask Prime Minister to attend the House proceedings and issue an assurance to the agitating members.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan turned down the demand saying that calling Prime Minister every now and then wasn't necessary. She also recalled the assurance given by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on the issue.
YSR Congress MPs have been protesting in Lok Sabha since last Monday. Even TDP MPs took part in the protest for the first two days but they stopped disrupting the proceedings after that for reasons known best to them.
