The journalists in Hyderabad who spent a majority share of their savings on the housing sites received a big relief with the long pending issue which has been going on for more than 12 years with the Supreme Court. The bench led by CJI NV Ramana passed the orders.

Going into detail, many journalists in Hyderabad in the combined Andhra Pradesh days were allocated around 70 acres of land by the then ruling party. However, the allocated land landed in a big controversy as a software firm said that the land was allocated to it.

Since then, the issue has been pending. As a big win for the journalists, the Supreme Court said that the land belongs to the journalists. Having said that, the Supreme Court allowed the journalists to build houses there.

The Supreme Court helped the Journalists to fulfill their long dream of having houses constructed in the area. They paid money to the then government to get the lands. Despite paying the money they did not get any relief with the allocated land landing in a controversy.

It has to be mentioned here that the land was allocated to IAS, IPS, and MPs. However, the Supreme Court cleared the issue related to only journalists. The issue related to the rest was sent to another bench. We have to wait and see what happens next.
