The Supreme Court gave its nod to conduct Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri. However, the apex court said that the Rath Yatra should be conducted based on some restrictions.
This case reached the apex court with the Centre moving the Supreme Court in this regard. The Centre said that the Rath Yatra can be conducted without public participation.
The constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice of India(CJI) SA Bobde said that to conduct the Rath Yatra, the state government will correlate with the Centre and temple management
The yatra will begin from Tuesday as per the schedule. The Odisha government will take all the necessary arrangements and the Rath Yatra will be confined to Puri alone.
