SC Quashes Petitions Filed To Seek Directives To Remove Jagan From His Post
In much relief to YSRCP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the top court in the country quashed a bunch of petitions filed to remove him as the CM.
The Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul led Supreme Court bench, which heard the petition maintained that the bunch of petitions doesn't hold any merit and the decisions to order an inquiry into such cases lie with the Chief Justice of India(CJI).
While refusing the petition, the bench also said, they can interfere in the issues which the other benches are hearing.
The Supreme Court bench has also quashed the petition filed to seek directives to call for a probe into the leakage of the letter against the Supreme Court judges and some of the High Court judges.
The bench said, there is no need to order an inquiry into the letter leakage. As the letter is in the public domain already, there is no need for an inquiry, the bench maintained.
The petitioners knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court to seek the court to take action against CM Jagan for making comments against SC judge Justice N V Ramana and others. They also sought the removal of Jagan from the CM post.
