Supreme Court Today upheld the death sentence awarded to the convicts of Delhi Gangrape in a moving bus.
Three of the Four Convicts of Nirbhaya Gangrape-Murder moved a review plea in Supreme Court seeking reduction of death penalty to life term. However, The Three Judges Bench led by Chief Justice Dipak Misra felt there is no material to review the verdict.
Akshay Kumar Singh (31), one of the convicts, hasn't filed a review petition challenging Supreme Court's May 2017 order upholding the verdict of Delhi High Court. Three Convicts (Mukesh (29), Pawan Gupta (22), Vinay Sharma (23)) can challenge the death sentence one more time before pleading President Of India for mercy.
23-Year-Old Medical Student was brutally raped in a moving bus on December 16th, 2012. Out of the six accused, Bus Driver Ram Singh killed himself and a Minor was released after serving 3 years in juvenile home.
