Nupur Sharma made everyone look at her with her controversial comments against Prophet. Not just India, the shocking waves created by her comments reached the Arab nations as well. Even the United Nations slammed her and this forced the Bharatiya Janata Party to remove her from the party.
Despite all this, the controversy did not end and she is reportedly getting threats. Sharing a post supporting her made a Hindu tailor lose his life as he was killed by two persons. Amid this, Nupur Sharma knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court earlier today.
In her petition, Nupur Sharma told the court that, she is receiving threats and she wants the transfer other cases to Delhi. She sought the transfer of all the First Information Reports (FIR)s that were filed against her all over the country to the national capital Delhi
Hearing the petition, the country's top court Supreme Court slammed Nupur Sharma and held her responsible for what is happening in the country. The Apex Court also said that the Udaipur violence can be attributed to her sensational comments.
After attributing the Udaipur violence to her, the Supreme Court said that the former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma should issue an apology to the whole nation.
"We saw the debate on how she was incited. But the way she said all this and later says she was a lawyer it is shameful. She should apologise to the whole country," the Apex Court said.
Ever since the issue popped up, there has been a big demand that Nupur Sharma should issue an apology for her objectionable comments. However, she has been claiming that she did not do anything wrong and she had just mentioned what is written in the holy book.
With Supreme Court also saying that Nupur Sharma should apologize, we have to wait and see what happens next. Now Nupur Sharma has two options left with her as far as the ongoing controversy is concerned.
One is she has to apologize for her comments and the second one is to approach the bench as a single judge bench hard Nupur Sharma's petition seeking transfer of her FIRs. Can the country's top court Supreme Court make what others failed to do is the big question here?
