Will Paripurnananda Become Telangana BJP President?

Update: 2018-12-20 05:29 GMT
The talk that the BJP national leadership might show the door to state president Dr K Laxman is gaining ground within the BJP. Several BJP leaders say that the party national leadership is preparing for a massive overhaul and all the senior leaders, who sit in Hyderabad and do little else, would be replaced. Already, a section within the party, especially the young workers, has already launched a campaign for removing Dr Laxman.

In fact, the BJP put up its worst ever show in the recent Assembly elections, where it contested 119 seats and managed to win just one. It polled a mere 7 per cent votes and over 105 MLA candidates had forfeited their security deposits. State President Dr Laxman himself stood a poor third from Musheerabad assembly constituency. As a result, the angry birds of the BJP are demanding that he be removed. Interestingly, the names of Raghunandan Rao of Dubbak, Swami Paripoornanand, the seer who joined the BJP ahead of the Assembly elections in Telangana and Bandi Sanjay, who contested and lost from Karimnagar, are doing rounds.

Some sources said that Swami Paripoornananda had joined the BJP only on the assurance that he would be made the party's state president. But, given the fact that his campaign made no impact in Telangana, there are doubts whether he would be made the party state president.
