Sydney siege: Viswakanth says Infosys helped him a lot

Guntur based Infosys employee Viswakanth Ankireddy  who held hostage by an Iranian-origin gunman at a popular cafe in Sydney reached to his home safely.He released a statement expressing gratitude for support to cope with his ordeal.He said his employer Infosys offered him incredible support in all possible ways during the tough time..

Ankireddy thanked Indian consulate in Sydney, Indian Prime Minister’s Office, and representatives of the Indian government who helped support his wife during the ordeal.

“I have been so grateful for all the expressions of support from friends, colleagues and wellwishers around Australia, India and the world,” he said in a statement.

He requested media  for privacy as he recovers from the bloody cafe shootout.He said he was getting better day by day."As for me, I am fine and getting better every day. I would respectfully request that media give me and my family the quiet time we need to recover," Ankireddy said in a statement.

Ankireddy, a native of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, has been working in Australia for the past The Sydney cafe operation was ended after 16 hours as Australian commandos along with police barged into the café and killed the extremist.
