Why Is TDP Planning To Contest GHMC Elections?

The Telangana TDP has finally decided to contest the GHMC elections. If you are wondering about the prospects of the TDP in the GHMC, there aren't any. The party might not even win a single seat in the GHMC. In that case, why does it want to contest this time?

Sources say that the T TDP is out to help the Congress Party. It will prevent at least a segment of the migrants from the Andhra Region  might vote for the TDP for old times sake. Most of the TRS voters have shifted to the TRS these days and by preventing at least a section from voting for the TRS, the TRS can be put in a spot. The TDP will indirectly try to help the Congress in the process.

In the last GHMC elections, the TDP could win one seat. The party has remained off the radar in Telangana since 2018. But it feels that some of its supporters still are with the TDP and if it contests the elections, another significant section can go back to the party. So, the party is hoping that it would win at least one corporator seat and influence the outcome in at least 5 to six seats with a large population of the migrants from Andhra Pradesh .

Time alone will tell whether TDP's plans fructify or not.
