Disqualification of defector MLAs gained prominence again after Revanth Reddy switched to the Congress Party. Before quitting, He had sent his resignation to party primary membership and MLA seat to TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu. TDP Leadership is yet to forward the resignation letter to Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary. Speaker will be under pressure to act on the petitions seeking disqualification of TDP, Congress, YCP and BSP MLAs if Revanth Reddy's resignation gets approved.
And now, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav comes up with a strange argument. 'Former TDLP Leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao offered a letter to the Speaker citing TDLP has merged with TRS. So, Where is the scope for my resignation? The resignation letter I had offered to Speaker long back isn't valid anymore,' he claims.
There could have been immense pressure on other defector MLAs had if Revanth Reddy offered his resignation directly to the Speaker. Why didn't he do so? Is it because of an understanding between him & TDP Chief? Whether or not Revanth is keen to contest Kodangal by-election? Only the Firebrand Leader could answer these queries!
