The latest news is that Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has tested positive for Covid-19. Banwarilal Purohit was taken to a Kauvery hospital in Chennai on Sunday morning.
The executive director of the hospital, Dr Aravindan Selvaraj confirmed the news by releasing a health bulletin.
As per the bulletin, the Governor is asymptomatic and clinically stable. As the infection is mild, he has been advised home isolation and will be monitored by the medical team.
The 80-year-old Purohit is the 21st Governor of Tamil Nadu. He was appointed to the post of September 30, 2017 and assumed office on October 6.
