The winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly got super attention from the political observers and common public with the alleged humiliation faced by former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. An intense war of words between YSRCP and TDP took place due to the incident. Both parties have their version of the issue.
Having remained silent on the issue, Assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram had opened up on the issue. Reacting to the issue, Tammineni reiterated what the ruling YSRCP leaders had said in the past and said no such incident took place in the house as said by the opposition leaders.
There is no truth in what the TDP is saying on the issue. No abusive comments were passed against Chandrababu Naidu's wife. In contrast to the propaganda of the opposition, such an incident did not take place in the Assembly, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram said.
Adding further, the speaker said, he was present in the house on the day and he is a live witness for that. The allegations made by the opposition are wrong. We have checked the record for more clarity. But we did not find anything, he said.
The Assembly speaker once again said that the responsibility of maintaining the sanctity of the House lies on the members of the house and they should make sure that they follow that.
Keeping the incident in mind, Tammineni Sitaram had earlier announced the decision of banning mobile phones in the house. While entering the house, the members have to deposit their phones with security.
It has to be mentioned that, the videos that are believed to have been recorded from the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) members of the alleged humiliating incident were out on social media. The social media pages that are in favor of the opposition party widely shared the video on their pages.
Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that the YSRCP leaders had targeted him personally and made abusive comments against his wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari, who has nothing to do with politics. Talking about the incident, Chandrababu Naidu burst into tears. He got big support from Nandamuri family members and others in the matter.
