Sattenapalli has always been a very important assembly seat in the TDP scheme of things. It was represented by biggies such as Kodela Sivaprasad. But, today, the TDP in the constituency is without a leader. What more? Everyone with some resources is claiming oneself to be the leader of the TDP in the constituency.
Sadly, the TDP top leadership could not take a decision on who would be the constituency incharge. It has been almost three years, Chandrababu Naidu has not taken any decision on who would lead the constituency.
There are at least four leaders, who are trying to emerge as the party candidates for the 2024 election. Former MLA YV Anjaneyulu, Rayapati family's Rayapati Rangababu, Kodela's son Sivaram and Nagothu Showraiah are in the fray.
YV Anjaneyulu has suddenly become active these days. Till a few months ago, there were rumours that he would leave the TDP. The buzz got strengthened after YS Jagan's birthday was celebrated in YV's schools. But, now he has become active and is attending even small programmes to prove that he is a claimant for the party ticket.
Rayapati Sambasiva Rao's son Rangababu made a bid in 2019 itself. He is now planning to fight from Sattenapalli. Kodela's son Sivaram has a negative reputation in the constituency due to the stories of his K Tax.
Yet, he is trying for an image change and is said to be in the reckoning for the MLA ticket. Similarly, senior leader Nagothu Showraiah too is making a bid for the party ticket.
But sources say that Chandrababu may not finalise the constituency incharge till the alliance with the Jana Sena is not finalised. However, the cadre now is confused because there is no constituency incharge, but there is a plethora of claimants for the post.
