It appears the proposed TDP-Jana Sena alliance is on the rocks. Though the TDP desperately wants the hand of Jana Sena to take on the YSRCP, it is finding the conditions imposed by the Jana Sena are self-defeating and unacceptable. Pawan Kalyan has given three options to the TDP to choose from. The TDP is peeved at this offer.
In fact, Pawan Kalyan has said that he has not made any claims in both 2014 and 2019 and hence, the TDP should accept his conditions this time. He said that he himself would be the chief minister's candidate of the alliance. In 2014, Pawan Kalyan did not even choose to contest the elections. He fully backed the TDP-BJP alliance.
In 2019, he had a tacit understanding with the TDP and tried to help it by dividing the votes. However, the plan failed miserably and the Jana Sena was badly mauled by the YSRCP. In fact, the TDP too fared badly. The party registered its all-time low performance.
The TDP feels that Jana Sena's demands are quite unreasonable. The party feels that the Jana Sena is not interested in having an alliance with the TDP. Otherwise he would have made reasonable proposals. TDP spokesperson GV Reddy and Denduluru former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar too have ridiculed Pawan Kalyan's proposals. They questioned the argument of Pawan Kalyan that the TDP could win only because of the help from the Jana Sena. As of now the war of words indicates that the alliance proposal is on a bumpy ride.
