TDP, Jana Sena In 'I Scratch Your Back- You Scratch My Back' Mode

AP is now witnessing an unprecedented unity of the opposition parties. They all appear to be working in tandem. They are trying to back one another to the hilt. What is interesting is that a section of the BJP too is fully backing the Opposition in AP.

The other day, Pawan Kalyan tried to hold a rally sans police permission on Amaravati. He tried to block the road. When the police tried to shift them, Pawan Kalyan squatted on the road. Within moments of this incident, Chandrababu responded by slamming the police. How dare you arrest someone like Pawan Kalyan, he asked the cops.

Next, it was Pawan's turn. Chandrababu tried to create a ruckus in the Amaravati area. The cops shifted him to his residence. This was enough for Pawan to see red. He slammed Chandrababu's arrest. Interestingly, Chandrababu was not arrested at all. He was merely shifted from the spot. But Pawan asked the police how dare they arrest Chandrababu.

The Communists on their part tried to give a comic touch to the whole episode. They are bragging that they would stoke the fires of agitation against the Government. But, everyone knows the Communists are no longer what they used to be. They are so weak and emaciated today that they cannot even think of bringing the government on its knees. Yet, they tried to voice their support for Chandrababu. Sadly, a section within the BjP too seems to feel that Chandrababu is still their boss.

Interestingly, none of these parties – the Jana Sena, the Left and even the BJP – supported the YSRCP, which was in Opposition earlier. But, the opposition unity is all too visible these days. But, as one wag put it, they will only lose their base is they continue to pursue the wrong agenda.
