Amid the constant shocks of defections and desertions, the Opposition TDP is now bracing for another shock. Long-time TDP leader and MLC Samanthaka Mani and her daughter and former MLA Yamini Bala have decided to join the YSRCP. They have left Anantapur to head for Amaravati, where they would join the party in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday.
For the past few weeks, there have been rumours that Samanthaka Mani and Yamini Bala would leave the TDP. Samanthaka Mani had even absented herself on the crucial day when the bill on three capitals was put to voting. Since then, it was believed that it is only a matter of time when she would resign from the TDP and join the YSRCP. Sources say that Samanthaka Mani has got a green signal from the YSRCP to join the party.
If sources are to be believed, more leaders from Anantapur are likely to ditch the TDP. Many leaders are upset at the way Chandrababu Naidu is handling the party affairs. They too are looking for the right opportunity to jump into the YSRCP, sources said.
