TDP loyalist Chinarajappa to shift to Konaseema in 2024?

Update: 2022-10-24 12:35 GMT
He may be Chandrababu's most trusted lieutenant, but the going for former deputy chief minister and TDP senior leader Nimmakayala China Rajappa appears to be getting increasingly tougher. There is a strong campaign to prevent him from getting the TDP ticket to contest from Peddapuram assembly constituency again.

A politically and numerically strong community is said to be lobbying hard against him. They are demanding that a candidate from their community should be given the party ticket in the 2024 elections.  Though Chinarajappa has won twice from Peddapuram, this community feels that he should shift to some other constituency.

Chinarajappa has been a trusted follower of the party and Chandrababu Naidu from the inception. He rose in the party ranks from being mandal incharge of Uppalaguptam in Konaseema to East Godavari district president. He was the deputy chief minister and home minister when Chandrababu Naidu was in power.  Known as non-controversial and work-minded, Chinarajappa has the support of several communities.

But, one community which feels that the TDP should belong to them, feels that Chinarajappa, a Kapu, should go back to the Konaseema region. If sources are to be believed, Chandrababu Naidu had recently called a meeting of the dissidents at Amaravati to sort out the issue. However, the situation remains the same, say sources. If the same trend continues, Chiarajappa may have to look for some other constituency, say sources.
