If there is one person that the TDP people dread most in the BJP these days, it is without doubt, GVL Narasimha Rao. This Tadepalligudem native-turned-Delhiite, is Rajya Sabha MP and his comments, arguments and debates based on cold facts are making the TDP people sweat in their sweaters. More than Somu Veerraju, more than Kanna Lakshminarayana, it is GVL who is troubling him most. He is taking on the TDP people on the social media, in the TV channels, in Rajya Sabha and of course even in the consultative meets with the central ministers.
The other day, the TDP leaders met Union Minister Piyush Goel to discuss the issue of Vizag railway zone. Even while the TDP ministers were trying to get some media publicity, GVL interjected and started asking them questions. The TDP MPs, who always get full coverage from the pro-TDP media, could not take this. So, without basing their arguments on facts, they started attacking him.
They were already peeved at GVL's stunning disclosure of TDP's private accounts. He had also beat them to pulp on Kadapa steel plant issue. When the minister brought GVL and Kambhampati Haribabu, they were shocked and tried to stop GVL. But, GVL joined the issue and made a mincemeet of them. They tried to argue that the Centre had taken back Rs 350 crore allocated for backward area development in AP. Then GVL countered them with facts.
Unable to counter him, the TDP MPs tried to object to his presence in the meeting. They said the MP did not represent the state and had no right to take part in the meeting. At this GVL too raised some tricky issues that kept the TDP people at bay. He said he has a right to speak. Finally, Piyush Goel, Haribabu and Sujana Chowdary had to intervene and pacify both the groups.
